The EDI Committee brings together former players, coaches, and administrators who are passionate about the future of women’s table tennis. Curious to get a glimpse of the Committee’s ideas? You might hear these:

  • What if we could bring young girls players together to practice?
  • What if we allowed girls players to train while building friendships?
  • What if we involved female players as practice partners at a camp?
  • What if we combined a training camp with coach development in person?
  • What if we joined forces with the Athletes’ Commission and the Coaches’ Committee?
  • What if we had more female coaches in our clubs?
  • What if we supported female coach development in all four corners of the country?
  • What if we could count on the support of a mentor like Ms. Mariann Domonkos?
  • What if we brought our female mentee coaches together with our mentor for a weekend to work and train?
  • What if we presented topics related to girls’ training to all coaches across Canada?
  • What if we highlighted the girls and women involved in table tennis?
  • What if we promoted the initiatives put forward by Table Tennis Canada to support women’s table tennis within the Canadian sporting community?
  • What if we provided ongoing support to coaches who want to pursue this path?
  • What if we had more role models for our players, coaches, officials, and administrators?
  • What if we participated in the Coaching Association of Canada (CAC) Mentorship Program called WAGE?
  • What if we highlighted the successes of our female athletes?
  • What if we talked more about women’s table tennis?

Are we dreaming big? Not at all. I have been empowered by everyone’s involvement, the motivation to improve the situation, and the hard work and contagious energy of volunteers who have successfully carried out the initiatives we’ve envisioned. Highlights of our work this year include:

As 2025 is ending, we would like to thank all the participants, coaches, supporters and volunteers who have been part of our initiatives. And what do we have planned for 2026? This year will be what we collectively decide to make of it. It will be the result of our decisions and everyone’s involvement.

Do you have ideas for initiatives the EDI Committee can implement? Would you like to be featured in our Women in Table Tennis Campaign? Would you like to get involved in one of our initiatives or funding efforts? If so, please contact a member of the Table Tennis Canada EDI Committee or Karine Dumontier at karine@ttcanada.ca!

All of our work would also be impossible without the support of the Table Tennis Canada board. Thank you to the Table Tennis Canada Board of Directors for their essential trust and support.

Finally, we wish the entire table tennis community a wonderful 2026 !

Karine Dumontier
