The TTCAN Board of Directors met electronically (ZOOM) on Thursday 20 October 2022. Here are some points of interest from the meeting:
- The Appeals regarding national team selections have been withdrawn by the Claimants.
- The nominations to Committees for the Phase-2 restructure of committees will be completed by the President and the Committee Chairs for approval by the Board.
- The draw and schedule for the ParaTT Canadian Championships (Mississauga, 29-20 October 2022) is complete and will be announced ASAP.
- The ParaTT National Team will participate in the Copa Costa Rica ParaTT (FA20) Championships in early December.
- The deadline to bid to host the 2023 Canadian Championships (Junior and Senior) is on 31 October 2022.
- The number of “cards” (Athlete Assistance Program) allocated to Table Tennis will be disputed by TTCAN.
- The “Women in Table tennis” promotional campaign has started through TTCAN’s social media.
- The process to determine the validity of the multiple walk-overs at the 2022 Canadian Championships will start after the Pan American Championships.
- Najam Chishti (TTCAN Vice president) will attend the ITTF’s AGM in person in Jordan, while Rob Chan (TTCAN Vice president) will attend online.
- All the equipment for the 2023 Canada Winter Games table tennis competition has been delivered by TTCAN to the Host Society in Charlottetown.
- The National Team is active in this period with participation in the Italian Junior Open, Hungarian Junior Open, Slovakian Junior Open and the 2022 Pan American Championships (Seniors).
