The TTCAN Board of Directors met electronically (Zoom) on 3 June 2021. Here are some points from the meeting:

  • All Board members completed the “Safety in Sport” online course except the President who will complete it before the deadline of 7 June 2021.
  • The Board assigned to the President and the Vice President Finance the responsibility of providing the first draft Audited Financial Statements to the Finance and Audit Committee for input and then send the FS to the AGM delegates before 12 June 2021.
  • The Board was presented with the details of the special funding of over $130,000 provided by TTCAN to the member associations and some clubs in 2020-2021 in 4 areas:
  1. Ratings income compensation
  2. Development
  3. Equipment
  4. Gender Equity
  • The Board acknowledged the receipt of 4 bids to host the 2021 Canadian Championships from PEI, Quebec, Alberta and NWT (30 September – 3 October 2021). The successful bid will be decided at the AGM on 12 June 2021.
  • There being only one candidate per position, Rob Chan, Chandra Madhosingh and Attila Mosony will be elected to the Board by acclamation for a two-year term on 12 June 2021 at the TTCAN AGM.
  • Thorsten Gohl and Marles Martins conducted a Coaching Program information session online (Zoom) attended by member associations representatives. The session was very successful and similar sessions may be conducted in the future in other areas of interest.
  • It was agreed to accept the proposal from the Coaching Certification Committee to change its name to “Coaching Development Committee” effective immediately.
  • The Board confirmed the acceptance of the Canada Winter Games (2023 CWG) of the age limit for Table Tennis to be U-19 as of 31 December 2022 (born in 2004).
  • The TTCAN Gender Equity & Equality Policy was approved as presented by the Gender Equity Committee.
