BOARD MEETING – 30 November 2023
The TTCAN Board of Directors met electronically (ZOOM) on Thursday 30 November 2023. Here are some points of interest from the meeting:
- Decisions made by e-mail voting since the last Board meeting will be included in the Minutes of this meeting to have them on record.
- The appeal and complaint filed by Rob Chan against TTSASK, and its President has concluded. The Adjudicator in the Appeal ruled in favour of Rob Chan, who remains a member of the TTSASK Board and its VP of Finance.
- A modified budget (version 4) was approved by the Board to consider the new Sport Canada funding for “Community Sport for All”.
- A special funding application has been made to Sport Canada to help TTCAN sustain its national team program financially till the end of the financial year.
- As of 1 January 2024, only national team athletes will be able to enter ITTF and WTT events. TTCAN may also accept non-national team members to enter ITTF and WTT events if they meet the minimum established Ratings point threshold.
- The Bid document for the 2024 and 2025 Canadian Championships was distributed to the member associations that expressed interest in hosting the events.
- Sport Canada announced that funding for the Gender Equity, Equality and Diversity (GEED) initiatives will resume for the last part of the current financial year, plus the 2024-25 financial year. TTCAN applied for funding based on the priorities set by the GEED Committee.
