TTCAN BOARD MEETING – 11 December 2025

The TTCAN Board of Directors met electronically (ZOOM) on Thursday 11 December 2025. Here are some points of interest from the meeting:

  • The Board registered all decisions taken by e-mail since the previous Board meeting.
  • The Sport Canada funding cuts were discussed and strategies to mitigate the inevitable deficit caused by the cuts were discussed.
  • A detailed analysis of TTCAN’s income and expense to the end of the financial year (31 March 2026) will be done to minimize the deficit.
  • The National Team activities were reviewed, and special mention was made regarding the U19 Canadian Girls team that qualified for the World Youth Championships held in Romania in November. Canada placed 9th overall after losing to Germany.
  • The trials for the 3rd and 4th place for the World Championships team (SR) will be held in Montreal (Men) and Vancouver (women) on 17-19 January 2026.
  • Updates were given regarding the preparations for the 2026 Canadian Championships (Winnipeg), the 2027 Canada Winter Games (Quebec City) and the 2027 Canadian Championships (Moncton).
  • The dates of the 2026 ParaTT Canadian Championships were confirmed as 26-27 September 2026. It was also noted that Canada qualified 7 “classifiers” who can now classify ParaTT athletes.
  • The WTT Youth Contender Mississauga will be held on 15-18 May 2026.
  • Canada’s participation at the FISU University Games was reported.
  • The adjusted National Team list for age groups (U19, U15 and U13) will be issued in January 2026.
  • The adjusted functions and responsibilities of Board members were reviewed, as well as the adjusted composition of TTCAN’s various committees.
  • The Athletes Commission Chair, Ivy Liao, provided an update and confirmed that an “information package” will be produced by the AC for the benefit of national team members.
  • The Board recognized the passing away of Attila Mosony and sends its deepest condolences to his family. An article on the TTCAN website will be posted highlighting the role Attila played in the development of our sport in Ontario and Canada.
  • The Board will review a proposed Memorandum of Understanding with the Richmond Oval.
