The Men and Women teams from Brazil won the Gold Medal in the Team events of the 2022 Pan American Championships in Santiago, Chile.
Canada lost to Brazil in the Men. In the Women, Canada lost to Chile 2-3 in a heart breaker.
Coach Wei Jianren said after the match:
“Zhang Mo played her level and won two matches for Canada. Our doubles didn’t work as well as we could because we had very little co-training before this tournament, but the girls still fought hard and lost 2-3. The most unfortunate is the last key match, where Ivy played. She was down 0-2 in sets and tenaciously came back to 2-2 with a lead of 9-6 in the fifth set, but was pulled back to lose the match 10-12 !!”
