The Canadian Mixed Team had two days of practice in Chengdu in preparation for the XD World Cup being held in Chengdu, China, on 1-7 December 2024. This is the second edition of this innovative and non-conventional event. Both men and women play on the same team, and a team match is a combination of singles, doubles and mixed doubles. The scoring system is different and every point counts.
In 2023, Canada did not emerge from the group. Only the top 2 teams from the 4 groups of 4 moved to the second stage (top-8). In 2023 Canada was seeded 16th out of 16 teams and finished in 13th place. This year Canada is seeded 14th. Canada will still be seeded last in one of the groups, so any win for Canada will be considered an upset.
