This year marks a powerful milestone in Canadian sport: the 25th anniversary of the Canadian Journal for Women in Coaching, a publication that has transformed the landscape of coaching by amplifying the voices, stories, and insights of women across all levels of sport.

Since 2000, the Journal has been a catalyst for change, offering practical strategies, sharing lived experiences, and addressing barriers that women coaches continue to face. From mentorship models to high performance insights and policy shifts, the Journal has contributed to a stronger, more inclusive sport system.

At Table Tennis Canada, this legacy resonates deeply. Over the past decade, we’ve strengthened our commitment to gender equity in coaching and leadership, including through initiatives like the National Girls Training Camp and the Women Coach Mentorship Program. Many of the guiding principles behind these efforts, such as allyship, inclusive training environments, and long term support for women coaches, are rooted in conversations championed by the Journal.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the Coaching Association of Canada and founding editor Sheila Robertson, along with all contributors who have shaped this vital platform. Their continued work inspires our own, as we strive to ensure every woman and girl in table tennis has a place to lead, coach, and thrive.

Here’s to 25 years of progress, and to the next chapter of change.
