Table Tennis Canada is thrilled to highlight the remarkable lineup of coaches selected previously announced in July for our groundbreaking Female Coach Mentorship program! Over the next three years, these six outstanding coaches from diverse regions will be empowered and equipped with the resources they need to excel at the 2027 Canada Games. This initiative is a significant step towards fostering female leadership in sports, and we are excited to support these amazing women on their journey to greatness!

As we celebrate National Coaches Week, we want to shine a spotlight on these incredible female coaches. Your dedication and passion inspire us all, and we can’t wait to see the amazing things you’ll achieve. Together, we are breaking barriers and leading the way for future generations of female athletes and coaches.

“I would like to learn what current coaching method is so I can coach athletes with confidence. I would like to provide athletes with not only Table Tennis technics but also skills that will help them grow to be better person mentally and physically. Eventually I may be able to provide mentorship to others like mentors of this program are going to do to me.” – Akiko Iwase, NWT

“Table tennis has become an integral part of my life, and I always strive to reach new heights. Participating in the development program in Canada will allow me not only to improve my skills but also to exchange experiences with other athletes and coaches.” – Iryna Shevchenko, ON

!I want to increase the overall level of play in my province and encourage more players (specifically girls) to stay in the sport for longer and to continue down a more competitive path. I want to learn how to make the sport fun again, for beginners and competitive athletes.” – Phuong Nguyen, MB

“I think we need to make ourselves known as female coaches. We can add a little (or big) something to our sport as coaches and as people to reach the level of other countries and help players progress in our sport (when I coach) I see that it brings joy to the child and that’s all that counts at the time.” – Maria Bagirova, QC

Let’s support and celebrate these incredible women as they embark on this transformative journey! Together, we’re paving the way for a brighter future in sports. #EmpowerWomen #TableTennisCanada #FemaleCoaches #CanadaGames2027 #MentorshipMatters #thankscoach #NationalCoachesWeek
