Table Tennis Canada is thrilled to announce the launch of the Female Coach Mentorship program, aimed at enhancing the skills of female coaches and preparing them for the upcoming 2027 Canada Games. This initiative spans three years and will select and support six exceptional coaches from various regions across Canada, providing them with valuable resources, mentorship opportunities, and a pathway to professional development.

The mentorship program, set to commence in July 2024 and run until March 2027, offers a unique opportunity for female coaches to elevate their coaching abilities and contribute to the growth of Table Tennis in Canada. With a focus on nationwide coverage, Table Tennis Canada has identified six regions where efforts will be concentrated: British Columbia, Ontario, Quebec, Prairies, Northern Canada, and Atlantic Provinces.

To be eligible for the program, coaches must hold the “Certified Introduction to Competition” certification or be in the process of obtaining it by March 31st, 2025. Selected coaches will be required to actively engage in program activities, including providing monthly content, participating in Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion webinars, and regular check-ins to ensure ongoing support and development.

The selected coaches will benefit from a range of support measures designed to enhance their coaching capabilities and foster a holistic approach to professional growth. These benefits include the provision of table tennis equipment, mentorship sessions led by renowned coach Mariann Domonkos, and guidance with professionals in areas such as nutrition and mental performance.

Female coaches interested in applying for the program are encouraged to submit their applications by the deadline of June 18th, with the announcement of selected coaches scheduled for June 24th, 2025. Table Tennis Canada is enthusiastic about the opportunities that the Female Coach Mentorship program presents for the future of coaching in Canada and looks forward to supporting and empowering female coaches on their journey towards coaching excellence.
