The High Level Coaching Course, organised by the Swedish Table Tennis Association in partnership with Halmstad University and the ITTF, fits within the wider framework of global coach education. Among 12 selected coaches from all over the world, was British Columbia’s Luba Sadovska.

An excited Luba shares her trip with us.

“It was definitely a new experience for me in regards of the information that coaches brought from their countries. I shared our Canadian Table Tennis system with them as well, they had a lot of questions about ranking and lesson types private vs. group.

I liked every presentation we had because they were all different. From performing under pressure to “sport related” physical fitness. I heard presentations about the Swedish “way of coaching” from Anders Thunstrom, Swedish Men’s National Team Coach 1990 – 1993, Peter Blomquist, current Swedish Men’s National team coach, Linus Mernsten National coach in Sweden, Luxembourg, England, Spain and Denmark, Mikael Andersson Swedish Table Tennis Association High Performance Director, also former coach for Denmark, Sweden. There was more presentations from the ITTF High Performance Director and the star presenter Jorgen Persson. He had a lesson on multi ball and contributed to each lesson as well. Massimo Costantini had great presentation on current trends in US coaching “ The American way” and Youth – styles and tactics, his input as ITTF High Performance Manager.

This course will definitely contribute to my future in my Master Coach Development (MCD) workshops.”
