Luba Sadovska on Completing the Advanced Coaching Diploma: “It’s More Than a Certification, It’s a Promise to Grow”
Luba Sadovska, head coach of North Shore Table Tennis Club and longtime contributor to the Canadian Table Tennis community, recently completed the Advanced Coaching Diploma (ACD), the highest level of coaching certification in Canada.
For Luba, the ACD was about much more than reaching a milestone, it was a journey of growth, reflection, and purpose. “I wanted to deepen my understanding of athlete centered coaching, evidence based practice, and long term planning,” she shared. “This wasn’t just about gaining credentials, it was about becoming the best coach I can be, for my athletes and for the sport I love.”
One of the most impactful parts of the program for Luba was the mentorship. Working closely with ACD mentor Darcy, she found guidance that not only helped her refine her coaching approach, but also helped her grow as a leader and innovator. She credits this relationship for inspiring a deeper focus on individualized programming, intentional periodization, and the integration of neuroscience into her coaching. “There was a moment when I realized true coaching isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about empowering others and finding people who guide you to your purpose. That shift changed everything for me.”
Now, Luba is bringing that philosophy into practice at her new initiative, Vitality Pong Neuro Active Clinic, where she blends Table Tennis and neuroscience to support individuals with neurodiverse and neurological conditions, as well as high-performance athletes seeking cognitive edge.
Her advice to other coaches considering the ACD? “Do it with an open mind. It’s challenging, it’s demanding, but it’s a powerful journey of self discovery and development. And learn from other sports, it broadens everything.”
As she looks to the future, Luba remains committed to growing table tennis across all levels, from grassroots to high performance, and giving back through mentorship, evidence-based programming, and inclusive community engagement. “Table Tennis is not just a game. It’s a tool for physical, cognitive, and emotional growth. I’m proud to be part of this movement.”
Congratulations, Luba, and thank you for your leadership in our sport!
