After many trials and tribulations, ups and downs, upsets and surprises, the men’s direct Olympic Qualification selection tournament came to an end.

The selection tournament held in St, Léonard, QC, on 29-30 May 2024, was staged to select just one player; the 3rd member of the Men’s Team to the Olympic Games in Paris. Many players aspired for this position and many players had the chance to get the final spot on the team.

After 3 stages of progressive Round-Robin groups, the final 4 emerged and filled the semi-finals slots:

Jeremy Hazin vs Laurent JutrasVigneault
Siméon Martin vs Zexuan (Aaron) Wang

Jeremy won his match against Laurent 3-0.

In the second semi-final, a very close match and hard battle was the order of the day with Aaron emerging victorious by the thinnest of margins (11-7, 7-11, 9-11, 11-7, 15-13). In contrast, the final match was an anti-climax with Jeremy easily winning against Aaron 3-0 and clinching the 3rd spot on the Canadian Olympic Team to Paris 2024.

Jeremy will join Eugene Wang and Edward Ly to complete the team.
