All international juniors events in 2020 have been canceled or postponed except 2020 World Junior Championships. The ITTF will invite teams based on their position at World Junior Team list. The Pan American National Associations are granted three spots.
  • Canadian boys (U18) are ranked 3rd and girls 4th out of all Pan Am National Associations.
  • If World Junior Championships will be held as planned (scheduled for 29 Nov – 6 Dec in Portugal) our boys will receive an invitation and our girls will be the first alternate.
  • In March, the selection tournament, our juniors were competing for spots for PanAm Junior Championships. Since the tournament has been cancelled, our team would need to start preparing for World Junior Championships. The High Performance Commission has decided that all players who earned spots for 2020 PanAm Junior squad will keep their spot for World Junior Championships squad (U18B – Edward Ly, Terence Yeung, Kenny Jiang, U18G – Sophie Gauthier, Nicole Cai, Ivy Bao).
The fourth spot in each team has been decided at the last HPC meeting
  • U18 Boys – David Xu
  • U18 Girls – Joyce Xu
Alternates for both teams
  • U18 Boys – Emile Joncas (5th)
  • U18 Girls – Katherine Morin (4th)
In order to maintain their position in squad for World Junior Championships all players will need to attend training camps and pass technical and physical tests that will be organized at those camps. Details about mandatory training camps for juniors will be announced once when we receive official ITTF invitation for 2020 World Junior Championships. Meanwhile, HPC will follow players activities through regular contacts with their provincial representatives and coaches.
