Every year on June 23, the world celebrates Olympic Day, a global movement to inspire people of all ages and backgrounds to get active. This day honours the creation of the International Olympic Committee in 1894 and promotes the Olympic values of excellence, friendship, and respect.

This year’s theme, Let’s Move, is a reminder that movement can start anywhere, with a single step, swing, or serve. Whether you’re playing for fun, for health, or for gold, it all begins with movement.

At Table Tennis Canada, movement is more than a game. It’s a path to belonging, learning, and growth. From school gyms to national training centres, from newcomer communities to international podiums, table tennis brings people together through joy, precision, and play.

Why Table Tennis?

Table Tennis is a sport for all:

  • It sharpens the mind and develops coordination
  • It’s accessible, inclusive, and adaptable
  • It connects cultures, generations, and communities
  • It reflects the Olympic spirit in every rally
