Table Tennis Canada is excited to announce its participation in the International Table Tennis Federation’s (ITTF) “My Gender. My Strength.” initiative for 2025, a groundbreaking project aimed at promoting women’s development in Table Tennis. This initiative underscores the vital role of sport in advancing gender equality and empowering women and girls, from players to leaders.

As part of this initiative, Table Tennis Canada is inviting applications from dedicated women coaches who are interested in participating in this transformative program. Interested candidates are encouraged to submit the following materials to karine@ttcanada.ca by March 23rd, 2025:

– A motivational video
– A current coaching CV
– Details of their practical coaching experience

A committee will review all submissions and select one coach to represent Canada in this prestigious program, ensuring timely submission of the application to the ITTF.

The “My Gender. My Strength.” project aims to enhance and advance women’s participation in Table Tennis by supporting and empowering ambitious female coaches. The initiative is designed to help these coaches elevate their careers and contribute to the development of table tennis within their Member Associations and beyond.

The program has several key objectives, including:

– Supporting selected female coaches in gaining theoretical knowledge, practical coaching experience, and enhancing their management and leadership skills.
– Creating a network among selected female coaches and fostering local female coaches’ networks within their Member Associations.
– Leaving a legacy and making a positive impact on women and girls in table tennis.

Each selected candidate will receive comprehensive support, which includes:

– Coverage of expenses related to group mentoring sessions.
– Funding for participation in agreed development activities.
– Assistance in organizing a Women and Girls Training Camp.

The program will be implemented in three stages:

  1. Theoretical Knowledge: Selected candidates will learn from experienced, top-level experts in coaching.
  2. Practical Experience: Candidates will enhance their practical experience by participating in activities such as the Hopes Program or Youth Training Camp, where they will learn from experienced head coaches. Airfare and hospitality will be covered by the project budget.
  3. Leadership and Management Skills: Under the support of their Member Association, candidates will be responsible for implementing a minimum three-day Women and Girls Training Camp, which will include educational sessions for other female coaches. The ITTF must be notified about the Training Camp in advance.

The “My Gender. My Strength.” initiative represents a significant step towards empowering women in table tennis and fostering a more inclusive environment within the sport. Table Tennis Canada encourages all interested female coaches to apply and take advantage of this incredible opportunity to grow and make a lasting impact in their communities. Together, we can strengthen the position of women and girls in table tennis and beyond.
