In January 2021 Table Tennis Canada (TTCAN) adopted the “Universal Code of Conduct to prevent and address Maltreatment in Sport (UCCMS) and appointed an Independent Third Party (ITP) to receive complaints of abuse and maltreatment.
In March 2023, TTCAN became a signatory to the “Abuse Free Program” administered by the “Office of the Sport-Integrity Commissioner (OSIC)” under the auspices of the “Sport Dispute Resolution Centre of Canada (SDRCC).
As of 1 April 2025, after the transfer of responsibility of Safe Sport from the SDRCC to the “Canadian Centre of Ethics in Sport (CCES)”, TTCAN is a signatory to the new “Canadian Safe Sport Program (CSSP), which is administered by the CCES

POLICY STATEMENT
“Table Tennis participants have the right to train and compete in safe and supportive environments. By adopting and implementing the “Canadian Safe Sport Program (CSSP), Table tennis Canada (TTCAN) demonstrates its commitment to safe sport. By adopting the CSSP, TTCAN and its identified signatories are subject to the UCCMS, which is administered by the CCES”.
TTCAN Safe Sport Participants
The following signatories are subject to the CSSP through the CCES:
- Board of Directors
- Professional Staff
- Committees Program Managers
- Senior National Team members
- Selected Coaches to National Teams to international competitions (as of 1 November 2025)

Complaints against any of the above listed participants are to be reported to the CCES as follows:

- Whereas the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport is mandated to independently administer the Universal Code of Conduct to Prevent and Address Maltreatment in Sport (UCCMS) under the Canadian Safe Sport Program (CSSP) effective April 1, 2025; and
- Whereas Table Tennis Canada is a federally funded sport organization required to adopt the Canadian Safe Sport Program as a valid policy document incorporated into its rules;
Be it resolved that Table Tennis Canada formally accepts and adopts the Canadian Safe Sport Program.

Table Tennis Canada (TTCAN) is the national governing body for the sport of table tennis in Canada. TTCAN encourages and facilitates the growth and development of table tennis in concert with its 13-member provincial/territorial associations. It is also responsible for overseeing the preparation and participation of Canadian national teams at the
Olympic and Paralympic Games, World Championships, and other international events.
TTCAN is responsible for certifying coaches, umpires and referees at the national level.
