Table Tennis Canada is pleased to announce the 2026-2027 National Team, recognizing the country’s top athletes across the U13, U15, U19, and Senior age categories. The updated National Team list was officially released on August 8, 2026, following the conclusion of the 2026 Canadian Championships. 

The National Team selection recognizes athletes who have consistently demonstrated excellence throughout the season and reflects the depth of talent continuing to develop across Canada. This year’s selection process differed slightly from previous years. Under the National Team Points System, athletes are normally evaluated using three components:

Canadian Championships (60%)

National Selection Tournament (30%)

Canadian Ratings (10%)

Due to financial constraints, the 2026 National Selection Tournament was not held. As a result, selections were based on results from the Canadian Championships and the latest Canadian Ratings. Points were adjusted proportionally to ensure fairness across all age categories, in accordance with the National Team Points System. 

The top four finishers in each event at the Canadian Championships automatically earned National Team status. Additional athletes qualified by combining their Canadian Championship results with their Canadian Rating, provided they met the required points threshold. The selection process also included provisions for certified medical exemptions when applicable. 

This year’s National Team also highlights the continued growth of Table Tennis across Canada. The New Brunswick Table Tennis Association returns to the National Team with an athlete in the U15 Boys category, while the Nova Scotia Table Tennis Association celebrates its first National Team athlete in many years with a selection in the U13 Boys division.

The National Team list will be reviewed again in January 2027, when age-group teams are adjusted to reflect athlete eligibility changes for the new competition year.
