When Sport Canada says that “Excellent job on your Facebook account for communicating in both official languages. When other sports organizations ask us for examples of good practice, we would refer them to your account without hesitation.” then we should be very proud.

Behind all the translations on the website and Facebook is Karine Dumontier. The former Directress of Club Tops Repentigny, treasurer and Board of Director of the Quebec Table Tennis Federation, and better known as “Sophie’s Mom” is the huge backbone when it comes to bilingualism for the National Sport Organization.

According to her: “ It is essential to communicate in both languages for a national organization like TTCAN to reach, include and consider all of its members. I am very glad to be part of it”.

Karine volunteered her time last year to translate all content for the website and our Facebook page as well as some other content sent out to our athletes, coaches and officials. There is a budget now for translation but she is continuing to go over and beyond to help and support Table Tennis Canada.

A huge thank you to Karine for her hard work, her fast translations and the dedication to our sport. Merci Karine!!!
