A major competition such as the Canada Games must have a team of reliable and competent umpires and referees. Table tennis had a great team of 12 umpires from across Canada. Hope Xing was the umpire and was able to rely on the great experience of Joe Fisher, the tournament’s assistant referee. Denis Vigeant, the umpire’s manager, knew how to lead the team of umpires and scorekeepers. Two referees assigned to the examination of the rackets as well as John Chen at the control table completed the team.
