This is a selection tournament for players aiming to qualify for the 2028 and 2032 Olympic Games.

ELIGIBILITY

  • Status: This event is open to Canadian Citizens, Permanent Residents, and those living in Canada and members of a provincial/territorial association but have not acquired yet Canadian Citizenship or Permanent Resident status. Proof of application for Permanent Residence is required.
  • Age: Born in 2009 or later

TOURNAMENT

  • There will be only one tournament for boys and one tournament for girls for players U14, U13, U12 and U11.
  • The tournament will be played in two phases, first group round-robins, then followed by progressive knock-outs.
  • At the end of the tournament all final positions will be determined from first to last, also for each age category the positions will be determined.
  • The top 3 in each age category will receive medals.

  • More detailed information (location, conditions, provincial selections, funding, etc.) will follow shortly.

HOST

  • Any province interested in hosting this event, please let us know before 31 January 2023. TTCAN has already received one expression of interest from Ontario.
  • The ideal number of tables needed for this event is 16 tables (minimum 12 tables) plus practice tables.
  • If more than one province is interested in hosting this event, the host will be elected based on the eligible number of players geographically in the most cost effective way (travel costs, etc.).
